I’ll take what applies to my lifestyle and leave that which doesn’t. We have a lot more to do, though, and I am looking forward to reading The Minimalist Home. And after almost 40 years of marriage and 23 years in this house, we have a lot of excess.ĭavid and I have decluttered and organized several spaces during the pandemic and it feels really good. Still, there is something to be said for paring down the excess. I like a richly layered look rather than the simple, uncluttered surfaces most minimalists seem drawn to. My preferred interior design look is that of an English country home that has been in the family for several generations. And honestly, that isn’t even a goal for me.
